4: About schools and settings that have met our criteria.
The aim of the BIG Award is to equip anti-bullying leads with effective strategies to prevent and respond to bullying. These schools and services demonstrate their commitment to do all they can to promote the wellbeing of everyone in the whole school or service community. Achieving the award does not mean there will never be cases of bullying in these schools. Bullying can happen anywhere. We offer the award in response to evidence of good practice and excellent policy and procedures to deal with bullying. We cannot be held responsible for individual incidents in an awarded setting.
In cases where bullying is found to be a problem, we can work with the school or service to improve their response. We are unable to handle individual cases.
